I was based from 1998-2002, at a small FAA field office in Farmingdale NY. During that time, there was a complete brake down of the FAA model work program. Cronyism and special favors was given to those who broke the law, was sanctioned by FAA Washington Senior Management
I observed a cover-up of a crash that killed 19 people in 2000, The FSDO manager attempted to pressured me to “fail” a flight test applicant he disliked. FAA management tried to cover-up two class “a” runway incursions at the local regional airport. In 2001 I reported an accident that was down graded to an incident, to keep the accident numbers down.
I was aware that the FSDO manager watched pornography during business hours on a government computer. A FSDO Supervisor operated a small business during office ours on Government time.
FSDO management destroyed a Program Tracking and Reporting Sytem, (PTRS) report to cover-up proper government procedure to falsify evidence against me.
The Department of Transportation Inspector General conducted over seven investigation of improper activity in this office that was either ignored or cover-up by FAA Washington Management.
In 2003, an accident took the lives of two pilots in a crash at the Groton Connecticut airport. It was found that the Farmingdale FSDO Management neglected to provide Surveillance on the Operator for over a year. It was covered-Up.
Yet, this is the activity of only one small office in the FAA system of 90 field offices. I have personal knowledge as well as documentation to support the above statements. Unfortunately this activity is systemic through out in the FAA system.
I supplied the Merit system Protection Board this information and it was ignored.
Our DOT/OIG is powerless and incapable of doing anything.
I have Five cases in the Office of Special Counsel OSC all closed with little activity.
Yet we wonder why our government is failing the people? Why is there so much fraud, waste, abuse and criminal activity seeming to be running rampant?
I have always believed in a strong merit system with protection of government employees that reported problems. Employees who risked it all, to become a WHISTELBLOWER, to save lives and keep our government strong.
The failure of our elected officials to protect government employees is the root cause of all the problems our country is facing today.
